根据中国医保商会植物提取分会和中国食品工业协会的数据，我国茶叶提取物每年产量大于25000吨，其中速溶茶和浓缩汁占20000吨，茶多酚 (儿茶素 )占2000吨。这些茶叶提取物大多都出口到了欧美国家。虽然我国每年用于深加工的茶叶量并不多，但是产生的效益并不低，“我们今天的深加工产业用不到占茶产量7-8%的中下档茶打造了中国茶叶综合产值的三分之一强”。
